Lived Experience
“I was lost, tired, confused, and felt totally alone in my misery. I had to borrow strength from others to even make it.”
Honest VoiceAbout the Author
Trey E., author of Relief Is Coming: Reflections from the Desert of Addiction.
I write from lived experience in addiction, recovery, service, and spiritual change. I believe no one is too far gone, no beginning is too broken, and relief can come when we become willing to believe in something greater than ourselves.
Who I Am
I am the author of Relief Is Coming: Reflections from the Desert of Addiction, a raw, honest recovery workbook written for people who are hurting, newly sober, trying again, or standing at the edge of change.
This is not clinical distance or polished self-help. It is experience, strength, and hope from someone who knows what it feels like to be desperate for relief and still afraid to change.
I did not write because I had recovery mastered. I wrote because other people shared honestly with me when I could not yet see a way forward. This work is one way I can pass some of that hope along.
Why the Work Exists
The first days can be loud. Fear is loud. Shame is loud. Withdrawal, wreckage, consequences, and the voice that says “you cannot do this” can all feel louder than hope.
“I was lost, tired, confused, and felt totally alone in my misery. I had to borrow strength from others to even make it.”
Honest Voice“Trust God, clean house, help others. Service is part of recovery, and this is one more way I can try to contribute.”
Recovery Focused“At some point everything boils down to what am I actually going to do about all this? These are the things I chose to do that might help.”
Next Right StepAuthor Note
Not from above it. Not as someone pretending this is easy. I wrote it from the place where honesty starts to matter more than image, where willingness becomes survival, and where the next right step is sometimes the only thing you can manage.
I know what it feels like to want relief without knowing how to get it. I know what it feels like to be tired of the way you are living and still scared of what change might require.
These books are not here to impress you. They are here to sit with you long enough to help you tell the truth and decide what you are willing to do next.
You do not have to fix your whole life today. You just have to be honest, stay willing, and keep walking.
Relief is coming.
