What is Relief Is Coming: Reflections from the Desert of Addiction?

It is a raw, honest recovery workbook for people who are hurting, newly sober, trying again, or standing at the edge of change. Written from lived experience by Trey E., it combines reflection, spiritual direction, practical questions, writing space, and recovery action.

What is Relief Is Coming: Reflections and Writing?

It is a separate Recovery Journal created for thoughts, inventories, questions, prayers, and next actions that need more room than a workbook page can provide. It includes mostly lined writing pages, comfortable wide spacing, and dedicated inventory and next-action sections.

What is the difference between the workbook and the journal?

The workbook provides the readings, recovery reflections, spiritual direction, questions, and practical actions. The Recovery Journal provides more open writing space. The workbook helps begin and guide the reflection. The journal gives the reader room to continue it.

Can the Recovery Journal be used by itself?

Yes. The journal works on its own as a personal recovery notebook, or it can be used alongside the workbook, sponsorship, peer support, treatment, sober living, group work, or an alumni program.

Do I need both books?

No. Each book can be used independently. Readers who want guided reflection should begin with the workbook. Readers who mainly need a dedicated place to write may choose the journal. Using both creates the most complete reading-and-writing experience.

Who are these books for?

They are for people who are hurting, newly sober, trying again, standing at the edge of change, or looking for an honest place to write. They may also support sponsors, peer support workers, treatment programs, sober living homes, churches, families, and people walking beside someone in early recovery.

How to Use Them

Read slowly. Write honestly. Take the next right step.

How should someone use the workbook?

Read slowly and answer honestly. There is no need to make an answer sound better than it is. The goal is not to perform recovery or finish quickly. The goal is to tell the truth, stay willing, and take the next right step.

How should someone use the Recovery Journal?

Use it for continued reflection, inventories, meeting notes, prayers, questions, gratitude, difficult truths, and next actions. There is no required order. When used with the workbook, a reader can write the short answer in the workbook and continue the deeper work in the journal.

Does either book have to be completed quickly?

No. Neither book is a timed program. Some pages may take a few minutes. Others may need to sit with the reader for a while. The books are meant to support honest movement, not a deadline.

Can these books be used with a sponsor or peer support worker?

Yes. The questions and writing can support conversations with a sponsor, peer support worker, recovery coach, counselor, mentor, or another trusted recovery person. The books support those relationships. They do not replace accountability or personal connection.

Can families use these books?

Yes, but with care. The Twelve Steps and honest reflection can benefit anyone. Family members should not use either book to pressure, monitor, or force another person into change. They may choose to work independently, learn more about the emotional tone of recovery, or work alongside their loved one by mutual agreement.

Online Recovery Tools

Practical worksheet support connected to the workbook.

QR codes inside the workbook connect readers to mobile-friendly Step 4, Step 6, and Step 8 worksheets.

Current tools include:

  • Step 4 Resentments
  • Step 4 Fears
  • Step 4 Harms
  • Step 4 Sexual Conduct
  • Step 6
  • Step 8
What are the QR recovery tools?

They are interactive online worksheet pages connected to the workbook. They provide additional room to complete inventories, save answers in the browser, download answers, print completed worksheets, or begin again.

Do I need the workbook to use the online tools?

The tools can be opened directly, but they are designed to support the reflections and direction inside the workbook. The workbook provides context. The tools provide a practical place to continue the written work.

Are answers submitted to Serenity Media?

No. The interactive worksheets use browser-only local storage and do not submit personal inventory answers to Serenity Media. Even so, readers should use a private device, protect downloaded files, clear saved work when appropriate, and be cautious on shared or public computers.

What is the current workbook-pack offer?

Qualifying direct workbook packs of 10 currently receive a 25% discount. The established 10-workbook checkout total is $137.70 after the discount and 8% sales tax, or $13.77 per book.
