From Relief Is Coming

A New Look. The Same Honest Recovery Work.

Relief Is Coming has a new cover that says more clearly what the book has always been: a practical 12-Step recovery workbook for getting sober, staying sober, or starting over.

Book Update By Trey E. About 4 minutes

I wanted the outside of this book to finally match what I hoped people would find when they opened it.

Relief Is Coming now has a new cover.

The old version carried the same heart, the same readings, and the same purpose. But this new look is clearer about what the book is built to do.

It is a 12-Step recovery workbook for people who are hurting, newly sober, trying again, or simply tired of doing the same thing and getting the same result.

The point of the update

The cover changed. The work inside did not.

Recovery has to be useful when life is happening.

I did not write Relief Is Coming to sit unopened on a shelf or to give someone a few pretty things to underline.

I wrote it for the moments when recovery gets real: when fear is loud, when a resentment will not let go, when shame is trying to isolate you, or when you need something more useful than another promise to yourself.

Each reflection gives you a question to sit with and a practical daily action. Not because a book can do recovery for anyone, but because sometimes the next honest question can help a person take the next right step.

Read One honest reflection.
Write What is true for you today.
Act Take one next right step.

Why the new cover is more direct.

The new cover names what the book is: a 12-Step recovery workbook with honest readings, guided writing, and practical actions for the next right step.

It also points people to the free interactive recovery worksheets available online for Steps 4, 6, and 8. Those tools are there for people who need a place to begin, or a way to put something they already know into action.

I want someone to be able to see the book and know immediately that it was made for real recovery work. Not perfection. Not a performance. Not trying to look like you have it together when you do not.

The goal was never to make recovery look polished. The goal was to give people something honest they could actually use.

The companion journal is part of the same idea.

The Companion Recovery Journal was made for the part that a book cannot fill in for you.

It gives you room to write the truth down. Your thoughts. Your inventory. The things you need to say out loud to someone else. The things you need to stop carrying alone.

The book gives you a reflection, a question, and a direction. The journal gives you space to answer it in your own words.

They work well separately. Together, they make a simple daily practice: read one reflection, write one honest response, and take one next right step.

One simple practice

Read one page. Tell the truth. Do the next right thing.

This is still written from lived experience.

Nothing about a new cover changes why I wrote this in the first place.

I know what it feels like to be trapped in active addiction, to keep making promises I could not keep, and to wonder whether I had already ruined too much to come back from.

I also know that recovery did not arrive all at once for me. It came through small decisions, uncomfortable honesty, people who would not let me disappear, and the willingness to keep trying again.

That is the work behind Relief Is Coming. It is not a replacement for treatment, therapy, sponsorship, medical care, or a recovery program. It is one honest tool for someone who needs a little help finding their footing today.

A Question Worth Sitting With

What is one part of my recovery I already know needs honest attention, and what would it look like to take one small action instead of avoiding it?

The new look is an invitation, not a promise.

The cover can invite someone in. The work starts when they open the book.

If you are newly sober, trying again, or looking for a practical recovery gift for someone you care about, I hope this new version makes it easier to see what Relief Is Coming is here for.

Honest recovery work. One day at a time. One next right step at a time.
